What You'll Learn from this Digital Event

Why This Matters:

  • Despite President Biden’s push for federal office workers to return to in-person work, a Federal News Network survey shows that approximately 30 percent of the 6,338 federal workers surveyed were fully remote. A mere 6 percent were entirely in-office, leaving a significant majority navigating a hybrid work setup. Have you spoken with different federal employees and departments, and if so, what are their reasons for sticking to hybrid or remote work?
  • Are particular regions seeing higher levels of remote or hybrid work, and if so, where?
  •  How can the current GSA/PBS Commissioner work with federal agencies to either shed office space, or help commit workers to return to the office?
  • What are the unique opportunities - or challenges - in selling former government office buildings?
  • How can conversions of these buildings in neighborhoods such as L’Enfant Plaza result in new placemaking and neighborhood opportunities for cities like DC?
  • What are boards like the Public Buildings Reform Board able to do to either push agencies to use, or lose, their office spaces?

Who You'll Hear From: Past and present experts on federal government office leasing and footprints
