Jerome A. Fink is a co-founder & Managing Partner of The Bascom Group, LLC. Bascom has completed over $12.0 billion in multi-family and commercial value-added transactions since 1996 including more than 300 multifamily properties and 80,000 units. Bascom has ranked among the top 50 multifamily owners in the U.S. Bascom’s subsidiaries and joint ventures include the Southern California Industrial Fund, Rushmore Properties, Bascom Portfolio Advisors, Shubin Nadal Associates, Spirit Bascom Ventures, REDA Bascom Ventures, MHF RM Holdings, Bascom Northwest Ventures, Bascom Arizona Ventures, Harbor Associates, Village Partner Ventures, and the Realm Group. Bascom’s subsidiaries also include Premier Business Centers, the largest privately held executive suite company in the U.S. Prior to founding Bascom, Mr. Fink acted as Senior Acquisitions and Sales Manager from 1991 to 1995 for Pacific Mutual Life Insurance Company. His responsibilities included market assessment, property identification and negotiation, and the acquisition and disposition of real estate investments. Mr. Fink holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Master of Business Administration in Real Estate and Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a member of the Institute of Real Estate Managements (IREM) and Turnaround Management Association (TMA). Mr. Fink is a licensed real estate broker in the state of California, a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), a Certified Property Manager (CPM), a Certified Mergers & Acquisitions Advisor (CM&AA), and a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP). He has appeared as a guest speaker at various functions, including those for the Urban Land Institute, University of California Los Angeles and Irvine, University of Southern California, and other assorted industry events. Mr. Fink previously served on the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association and is currently a member of the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate Executive Committee.  He has previously served on the board for the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) California Coast chapter and is currently a member of the World Presidents Organization (WPO). In 2004, Mr. Fink was awarded the Apartment Executive of the Year by the Real Estate Conference Group, the industry's largest and most prestigious multifamily conference on the West Coast, and was later awarded the Rising Star award by the University of California Irvine Center for Real Estate in 2008. Mr. Fink was also recognized in the 2011 Multi-Family Executive Magazine. In 2016, Mr. Fink was awarded the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Orange County.

Michael M. Ruane, National CORE’s President, leads the development of program and business strategies for the organization and is responsible for overseeing all operating departments. Previously, Mr. Ruane served in a variety of leadership positions in Orange County, including Chief of Strategy and Public Affairs of CalOptima, Executive Director of the Children and Families Commission, Assistant County Chief Executive Officer and Director of the Environmental Management Agency. Mr. Ruane is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine, and earned a master’s degree from the UCLA Graduate School of Architecture and Urban Planning. Mr. Ruane is the Immediate Past Chair of the Orange County/Inland Empire District Council of the Urban Land Institute and is the Jury Chair for the 2016 HUD Innovation in Affordable Housing national design and planning competition.

Jim is the Co-Founder of Sancerra and has been instrumental in managing over 60 transactions with a market value of over $3.0B. Most recently, he spent 17 years as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for Integral Communities and was a key member of the company's Executive Management team, with direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, legal, investor relations, acquisitions, dispositions and partnership compliance. Jim has also held leadership positions with Pulte Homes, Ryland Homes, and Ernest & Young, and has served on the Board of Directors for the Make a Wish Foundation and Thomas House Family Shelter. Jim graduated with a BS in Business Administration from the University of Michigan.

Shane Shafer is senior vice president/managing director in Northmarq Multifamily’s greater Los Angeles offices. He is one of the top multifamily investment sales brokers in Southern California, with more than 20 years of experience and $3 billion in sales to date. Previously, Shane worked for Berkadia as partner/managing director, where he was consistently one of the firm’s top brokers. During his years at Berkadia, Shane received the following accolades: #1 Brokers in the Irvine Office (2015, 2016 & 2017); Recognized as one of the “Hot Brokers” by Southern California Real Estate Magazine and was consistently in the top 5 percent of Berkadia agents nationwide. Prior to Berkadia, Shane worked at Sperry Van Ness years in the position of senior vice president. There, he was awarded the Sperry Van Ness Achievers Award in 2003 and was a member of the Sperry Van Ness Partner Circle (2004, 2005, 2006 & 2007). Shane started at Marcus Millichap, where he earned the Rookie of the Year award in 1998. Shane graduated with a BS in Political Science from Arizona State University. Aside from speaking at conferences and participating in industry events, Shane is passionate about giving back to the communities in which he’s worked, and has contributed time and finances to many charitable organizations throughout Southern California. Kate is a CPA with over 12 years of experience providing exceptional client service to both individuals and entities in a variety of industries including real estate and professional services. In addition to serving clients, Kate also sits on multiple committees within the Firm working to evolve and assist the firm in a variety of ways including improving client service and staff retention.

Brian is the Vice President of Development for Shopoff Realty Investments, and has expertise in real estate investment syndication, acquisitions, land development, distressed debt portfolios, property management, engineering and planning of urban infill and master-planned communities. Brian has over 15 years of experience in the acquisition, entitlement, asset management, and disposition of real estate investments and land development projects. He has experience with both private real estate syndications and publicly registered REIT’s, and has successfully managed residential, commercial and industrial real estate investment syndications, and development projects in Pennsylvania, Southern California, Arizona, and the Island of Hawaii. Brian earned his MBA from California State University – San Marcos, and has a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering and a Master’s degree in environmental engineering from Penn State University. He is a Registered Civil Engineer in the State of California. He served on the Board of Directors for the Kailua Village Business Improvement District, and has served as Chairman of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Roundtable Committee.

Ryan has extensive experience in the affordable housing field, with particular expertise in developing supportive housing on complex urban sites in Southern California. With 20 plus years of real estate development experience, he most recently served as a Senior Project Manager at A Community of Friends, a developer of supportive housing based in Los Angeles. Ryan is passionate about innovative approaches that can improve the development process and result in beautiful, sustainable and cost effective developments. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Goshen College and a Master of Arts Degree from UCLA in Urban Planning.

Peter Sarkis is the Principal of Petra Structural Engineers (PSE), where he oversees all aspects of client interactions, supervision of engineering and drafting personnel, project design and production, overall project coordination, and construction administration. Peter is a licensed Structural Engineer (S.E) with over 27 years of experience and brings a wealth of expertise and leadership to every project. Peter holds an MBA (2005) and an MS in Civil Engineering (1997) from the University of California, Los Angeles, as well as a BS in Civil Engineering (1996) from Ecole Special des Travaux Publics in Paris, France. He is a licensed Structural Engineer in California and several other states, and also served as a Structures Specialist for California Task Force 2 (CATF2) Urban Search and Rescue.

Andrew currently manages all active development and construction projects for Russell Square consisting of more than 2,300 units with total development costs above $800 million. He has brought years of experience from multiple industry perspectives creating a cohesive relationship between investment, development and construction. Andrew has previous experience as a Project Manager for Sapphire Construction in Los Angeles where he managed ground-up multifamily projects in addition to complex projects for LAUSD and Metrolink. Andrew gained valuable Project Management experience with Fulcrum, a national firm that assists investors, developers and lending institutions in the multifamily asset class. Andrew earned a Private Equity Certificate from University of Pennsylvania. He received his B.A. in Economics from San Diego State University and a Masters in Real Estate from Georgetown University.

Dan Gura is Director of Business Development for MVE + Partners, an international architecture firm with over fifty years of experience in the business. Dan has worked for more than 20 years in real estate in business development, multifamily brokerage, and law and is the owner of a multifamily portfolio in the Los Angeles area. Dan’s thorough understanding of the market and enthusiasm for creating long-lasting client relationships make him an integral part of MVE leadership. His expertise in understanding various markets, site selection, market and financial analysis, and subcontractors and consultants make him a valuable resource to MVE clients. However, Dan’s outreach extends far beyond the San Diego area as he heads up Business Development for MVE across the United States and internationally.

Daniel’s drive and entrepreneurial mindset is the leading force behind AllView Real Estate. Daniel started personally investing in real estate by locating and buying undervalued, distressed, and underperforming properties that he would then renovate, rent and manage throughout both Southern Californ ia and Nevada. Today, Daniel focuses on helping investors find, manage, and improve the returns of their real estate investments throughout Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, and Riverside counties. Daniel also continues to take a hands-on approach to building his own Multi-Family, Single Family, and Commercial real estate portfolio. Daniel earned a Masters of Business Administration from the UCLA Anderson School of Management where he received concentrations in both Real Estate and Finance. He also holds a California Real Estate License and has degrees in Business Administration, Economics and Spanish from the University of Oregon where he completed his undergraduate studies. Prior to founding AllView Real Estate Management, Daniel managed companies in the Private Equity and Healthcare industry where he led in the acquisition and turn-arounds of underperforming businesses and assets.
